In a nutshell, Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that helps rid the skin of free radicals.
FACT: having both vitamin C & E in your skincare helps prevent sun damage better than vitamin C or E on its own. Vitamins C and E both work together to maintain healthy collagen, a protein important for skin strength. You need vitamin C to help synthesize the collagen required for healthy skin, as well as healthy vitamin E levels to maintain proper cross-links between collagen fibers.
Ceramides – Naturally occurring, long chains of lipids (fats) that are major components of skin’s outer layers. Skin inhibits water movement and controls loss via its structure, which has a unique composition of 50% ceramides, 25% cholesterol, and 15% free fatty acids. Ceramides are necessary for their water-retention capacity and adding them to a skincare product helps provide replenishing and restoring benefits. Nine different ceramides have been identified in skin, we used 4 in this face mask. On a skincare product ingredient label, you’ll see ceramide AP, ceramide EOP, ceramide NP, and phytosphingosine. Ceramides work best for skin when they’re combined with other replenishing ingredients like fatty acids and cholesterol. These lipid mixtures work in multiple ways to improve skin’s texture, suppleness, and help calm signs of sensitivity.
Niacinamide – Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, niacinamide is a very effective skin-restoring ingredient that offers multiple benefits for aging skin. Among these benefits is the ability to visibly improve the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines, dullness, and a weakened skin surface. Niacinamide can also mitigate the damage environmental attack can cause. Vitamin B3 is used for DNA repair and energy production in skin.
The best time to use Niacinamide is at nighttime when their isn’t a threat of UV damage or stress.
Hyaluronic Acid – is a naturally-produced component of the body, that tends to decrease with age. Hyaluronic Acid has the ability to preserve moisture and increase firmness within the skin. It helps to plump and tone skin cells for a natural and healthy-looking complexion.
Peppermint Oil – Helps aid in oil secretion of the skin, therefore preventing acne. It contains menthol that has a cooling effect and at the same time, works to brighten up the dull skin.
